Thanks to everyone that responded, I finally decided to
go with a set of BMW 7.5"x17" forged alloys with
235/45ZR17's all round. This tire is approx 0.9" larger
in diameter but that's no big deal on a track wheel.
I did hope to get the new Yokohama A032R's in 235/40ZR17
but apparently they wont be available for some time according
to the Tire Rack.
To summarise people's responses to me, everyone pretty much
thought that hanging a '96 set of wheels & tires on a 95
would require a significant amount of tweaking to tune out
the effects of the new wheel/tire combination. Since I
didnt feel competent enough to do this the decision was a
no brainer!
I also went for the 7.5" wheel all round to better
facilitate tire rotation .... no that kind of rotation
silly!
8^)
Thanks again to everyone for their sounds advice ....
See you at the track!
- Larry.
P.S
If anyone has experience of the A032R's vs the R1's can
they let me know of their experiences?
