<E30> 325i Exhaust

I'll be needing a muffler for my '89 325i to pass inspection in Oct.  I'd
like to eventually add a performance chip, so I'd like to buy a muffler
that will help me get the most from the chip.

I'd like to hear from anyone who bought a performance muffler for their
E30 325i(s) and especially anyone who used it with a chip (Dinan, Jim C.,
etc).  Which ones are worthwhile, I want power and torque, not just more
noise.
