Chris,
I checked with B&N, Borders, and a few book sellers on the net (even one
based in the UK). None of them could locate the manual based upon the
ISBN. One person who assisted me noted that UK publications are
notoriously slow to appear in the book databases, if indeed they ever do.
Undaunted, I called Haynes US subsidiary. The gal who answered the phone
there had no knowledge of it, didn't know whether a US edition would become
available, and didn't particularly seem to care or want let me speak to
someone else who might know. Her terse reply was something to the effect
of "just because they have it in England doesn't mean we will have it
here."
I don't have their phone number anymore, but anyone who wants to give it a
shot can find the number in one of the net phone directories. The US
operation is based in Newbury Park, CA.
Like others, I finally ended up ordering direct from Haynes in the UK [+44
(1963) 440 635] for 10.99 (pounds) plus 7.88 airmail. It should arrive
next week. Ask for customer service and one of the *nice* people there
will take the order. The manual code is #3210.
FYI, I also spoke to Bentley about their E36 manual. It's currently in
progress and the projected publication date is May '97. They said to call
back at the end of the year for a firmer date and price.

Herman
