RE: Speakers of choice

I just replaced my E30 front speakers with a pair of separates. The 
tweeter mounts perfectly on the plastic cover opposite the outside 
mirror - similar to the optional system on this model, and the woofer 
fits right into the kick panel. If you don't already have the tweeter 
in the door, you'll be happy to find that it's prewired (mine was). The 
crosssovers were tricky to place though.  Hooked to a CD head unit, it 
made a huge improvement in the imaging, even with the windows down and 
sunroof open.
