Well guys, for all of you who raead my previous posts on the subject I 
have a retraction:

I saw the yellow E-36 covertible at the dealers today, and it is an 
afterthought! Apparently it started its life as a 318ic and has undergone 
lots of mods - with non-BMW parts - BBS rims, momo steering wheel, and 
lots of M3 stickers all aaround. They just put in second replacement 
engine!

So I did not see an M3 convertible!

Mea culpa!
