Hey Chris, did you see that post on "Lock Resynchonization"? It must be part of
what is new in the E30 as compared to the E28.
I did figure out that it is the switches within the trunk actuator that has
died. I removed the actuator and unplugged the harness. From the Bentley
manual, it appeared that the yellow/black and the green/black wires, the
lock/unlock wires, would be grounded when the key turned the lock cylinder and
actuate the central loacking feature. I took a test lead and shorted each of
the above wires to the brown ground lead in the same connector and I had the
central locking feature again. Plugged the actuator back into the harness after
I cleaned up the leads and still no joy. But I now know what part I need!
