>>As the person who began the latest thread on the problems with the V8
Engine I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions as to what, if
anything, can be done to " wakeup BMW ." It seems to me that the number of
people who truly have an idea as to the potential problems ( devalued luxury
cars at "selling time", ? if the "fixes" fix anything in the long run, loss
of power and gas mileage, etc ) is small. Because of this BMW has chosen to
do very little to really correct the problems. Someone did suggest that a
company as large and prestigious as BMW should have responded to their
mistakes with a more substantial answer ( ? replace block )....
>>My own experience in talking with the local dealer was marginal at best. I
was reassured that " my car " was not affected. When asked if this meant a
different engine than those having the sulfa problem I got a non-answer. I
believe, at the best, I have an engine with " The Big Fix " installed at the
factory.
>>As the BMW's with the V8 are quite pricey I think the owners are owed at
least the reassurance that they will not lose money because of the errors
made in producing these car.......Any thoughts?????
