Re: Rough idle Nuisance .....

 I had a problem which sound like it may be similar
to yours with my '89 325i. After replacing the air flow
meter the idle was very uneven. The engine would idle
at normal speed, then drop to about 300 rpm. This would
cycle about once a second with the idle varying between
300 and 900 rpm. 

 The problem was the mixture adjustment on the ariflow meter.
It was set too lean. I simply richened the mixture untill
the engine ran smoothly. Never bothered with a gas analyzer.
The car more than meets USA emissions standards.
