Re: 328i Whistling

I took my 328 to the dealer last week since I could also hear a high-pich 
whistling sound when driving 60-70mi/hr.  I was told that I have a noisy 
alternator, and they will call me when the new one comes in. 
(The sound does feel as if it is coming out of the middle or passanger 
area). 

On the noise subject, is the ticking noise from the hydrolic valves 
normal for the first 10,000 mi.? I asked and was told that was the case.
