<e28>Shocks and Rust

Hi all,

You people must give me some good advice as I have nowhere else to go.

These are old problems that I have mentioned before.

My 87 535is has a rust hole in the rocker panel underneath the car by the front
jack stand.

Also have holes in the trunk under the rubber gasket that is supposed to
keep water out of the trunk.

Car has cancer!!

What do I do? How is this fixed? Can it be fixed? Will it come back? Car is in
New York if you
know of any good restoration shops.  Please,  my baby is die-ing..

Also,  need new rear shocks.  Want to stay as stock as possible. OEM is
expensive. Bilstiens and
BOGEs are cheaper.  Can anyone that has replaced their shocks give me some
advice.
