In response to this thread, I used ot have a SAAB 900 convertible with an
outside temperature gauge with a red light that would activate when the temps
fell below freezing. This was useful, but the BMW chimes provide a good  or
better audible warning. I'm not aware that SAAB had anything more
sophisticated  than what BMW offers.Cheers
