Dear Chad,
you are welcome. I am the consumate researcher, and enjoy sharing my
findings.
I don't think that there is a break in for tires. I advise rotation
every time you change the oil (3000 miles). Keep your cold
preassures at about 34-36, and check fairly often. You can also
remove and remount after a while if you are getting inside edge wear
from your neg camber. You will then have a warn outside shoulder,
but the tires will go a bit longer than if you just let the inside
edge go to pot.
BTW, I sold the Falkens without even trying them (the store had
another customer who needed them, and I didn't until next fall). I
have since decided that Michelins are indeed the best way to go, so I
have gone full circle. you bought the right tires, in my opinion!
The only reason that I, and many others, were retecent about
Michelins was the COST. but now they are about 263, the same as any
other top of the line tire. I am surprised about the run to Dunlop
SP 8000's. I had them on my Lexus coupe, and they were very quiet
and smooth for a big heavy sled, but certainly not full on
performance tires.
Yes, I can still use your take offs. I am running 3.5 degs neg
camber now, and am going thru tires like crazy. I will ruin a brand
new tire in 1000 miles, or a used tire in 1000 miles, so used ones
are what I need. The only reason I need to be a "little bit picky"
is because shipping will cost me at least $25, and I don't want to
waste the $ or your time if I can't use them. What I need is: at
least 4/32 tread, and fairly even wear, inside edge to outside edge.
If your fronts fit that desription (slight excess wear on the outside
edge is okay-I will just mount them with the worn side in, where they
ride in a straight line with all that neg camber), I would be pleased
if you would ship them to me. UPS just asks that the two tires be
taped together. Let me know what the charge is, and I will mail you
she shipping costs immediately.

by the way, I am forwarding you a recent article I wrote on setup,
that is kind of a "word to the wise" about trying to get TOO MUCH
oversteer.
