install shop and they said they couldn't do it, then I found the old
J.C. Whitney Co. and they have several types eletronic/vacuum to choose
from. Anyone out there put cruise on their BMW as an afterthought? I'd
welcome your thoughts. My past experience with J.C. Whitney has been
buyer beware. I'd like to spend around $200 - $250 if possible or am I
dreaming?>
Many years ago, I bough a cruise control fron Whitney for considerably less
tha $100 - put it on my '69 Pontiac GP, then moved the unit to a BMW 528I
where it gave me great service until I sold the car in '93. It had the "bump
up / bump down" feature where you could adjust your speed in 1/2 MPH
increments - it kept the speed very well - within 1 MPH or less. Suggest you
select the unit base on the features. The one I got was from a well know
California aftermarket company (name now forgotten).
