318i flywheel - automatic vs. manual



I have a flywheel and torque converter from an '85 1.8L automatic. The
flywheel looks very thin and doesn't appear to have a machined surface
for the clutch disk. I assume I'll have to swap the flywheel out for a
manual tranny UNLESS somebody has found a way to mount a clutch face
surface. I assume that this would result in a lighter flywheel. Any
ideas or experience out there?
