thanks to all for the input. Gald to see I am not the only one that is
getting screwed by Halo Products, Oakland Ca. Below are some clipettes
of stuf people sent me.
Some follow up and add'l info

Agreed. I called VISA immediatley after the second coming of
"the
story". I have told VISA that I am discounting the bill by the $270 for
the helmet ($34 for red lable shipping). I asked them to get their
money from Halo. I have done this
with AmEx all the time with large success, but this VISA company
apparently is not as willing to be confrontational as AmEx. I've been
with Amex since 1977 and average a bunch per year due to personal and
company charges so I have more leverage with them. I rarely use VISA
but did on this transaction for some reason.
Holding my $300 because they will have a 2% transaction cost
AGAIN if
and when they ship the 7 1/2 is as you say, ****. The concept that they
have a pre-paid order on their hands does not register with these guys.
I told them I never agreed to buy the helmet on a pre-paid basis!

It is not a matter of the money (ultimately), it is a matter
principle. Here is a big time company, pulling **** like we are in the
age of rocks and chisles and deferring to a 37 year old policy is
garbage. VISA was not around 37 years ago.

I have tried on other Bell 7 1/2 since from friends and it fits
much
better with the balacala. The 7 5/8 has room for a bunch more head (or
hair and since I am folically challenged that is not an option).
thanks for all your support and inputs.
