25k mile oil changes?

Oil changes at every 25 to 30 thousand miles??? Wow.  And to think most guys
on this list think the SI lights and their approx. 8-10k intervals are a
conspiracy by BMW to ensure the engines die early.  

(Wonder if the BMW engineers were sitting on a "grassy Knoll" when they
thought up the Si lights? ;-)
