OK, don't laugh too much at this, but, I've always thought of the 
8-Series as a 2-door version of the 7-Series and of the 6-Series 
as a 2-door version of the 5-Series.  So, why don't they call the 
2-door 3-Series the 4-Series?

Then again, maybe I'm just trying to avoid the last hour of work before
the weekend :-).
