Just a thought:

A Canadian gallon is BIGGER than a US gallon. (Mine's bigger than
yours is!)

I think a CDN Gallon is something like 4.5 litres (?) and a US gallon
is something like 3.9 Litres (?)

Which makes me wonder what Euro people consider a gallon ? Usually CDN
stuff is more like Euro stuff than US stuff but not always. Sigh.
