Dealer Referral/E28 ShortShift

Thanks to everyone for your answers to my questions on electrical problems 
with my '87 535is.  It appears to have been fuse box/fuse related.  I have 
two more question:

1)  Has anyone tried the short-shift kit from Bavarian Autosport?  Is it 
worth the $160?  My shifter is sloppy so I'm about to spend some money on it 
anyway and like the idea of shorter throws.

2)  With the discussions about commercial posts to the digest I figure now is 
the time to ask for referrals to reputable dealers.  Who have you used for 
parts, trouble-shooting, willing ear, etc. that you would suggest I call with 
my needs?  If there is a great story about why you use them I wouldn't mind 
hearing it either.
