Main question:
My fresh air vent is bad on my '86 535i. The slide seems to work (will verify
with meter tomorrow), so I think it is the motor that opens and closes the
vent (the vent is electric on '86 and up). Bentley says it is on the right
side on the heater box, but the heater box removal is not covered in the
manual due to the need of disconnecting the A/C. Is there a way to get to
this and fix it or close it permanently? If not can I block the fresh air
vent inlets on the firewall/hood without screwing up the A/C or anything
else?
Auxillary questions:
Bavarian Auto Service sells stainless brakelines that are labeled for off
road use only. What does this mean? Who sells the teflon ones? The BAS set is
much cheaper than dealer.
What about the short throw kit on the same page? Fix that loose shifter?
