To those following this one,

You might take a look at that data again.  If you plot it, you get

		32	34	36	38	40

(subject to rounding - the #'s are 65.9, 69.6, 67.5, 71, 68)

Clearly looks like the run-to-run uncertainty may be 1-2 mph.  If we 
assume that, the most likely best tire pressure is *not* inconsistant 
with 36 psi.
