Andy, if there is any justice in the world those perpetrators will someday
have their lungs filled with similar paint. May they rot in hell.
As you might guess, that happened to us on Halloween '93: a coupla gallons
of latex house paint (interior, flat white) was dumped on my '75 2002 and
my dad's '85 528e. Both cars were in my driveway and the paint was applied
to the right rear of the roof so that it ran down the rear window. Luckily
for them I we were all out of town that day. I got back in town maybe 20
minutes after it happened as the paint was still wet, and MOST of it washed
off with a hose and cursing to make a sailor blush. I spent the rest of
the night sitting on my porch with a rifle, hoping for a repeat appearance.
I've used Acetone to remove acrylics and enamels off another car
(it's a damned epidemic, I swear) and the stuff worked great. I recommend
gloves because it evaporates so fast that you'll get frostbite on a mild
day even. The stuff's maybe $4 at Ace Hardware or wherever. Test it on
a small section of the spoiler. My dad's old Euro 635 had that nice soft
urethane spoiler and it may react differently than regular old paint.
