Dear all,
Having replaced the entire braking system on my 2002 apart from the servos
in the past year, I suppose it was only a matter of time before they started
pushing the brake pedal up towards my foot when I brake. So now I have
nearly dismantled one to have a look inside. The problem is that I cant work
out how to separate the actuating rod from the cast iron hydraulic cylinder
assembley (these are ATE servos). Does anyone have experience of how to do
this? There is a blue rubber seal i can see, I guess this has to come out?
I didnt want to destroy the thing first and then work out how its supposed
to come apart afterwards...
In connection with this, Jaymic (the UK 2002 specialist) want 86 pounds
for a servo rebuild kit, which seems a lot to me. Does anyone know if its
possible to get just the seals for the hydraulic cylinders from somewhere?
Or any other hints on servo rebuilds???
Thanks,
Dave Lacey.
