More 2002 related questions.
I've just got my `02 back for the winter, crossed France in 7.5 hrs, no
problem. I'd forgotten how it drives on winding roads--excellent fun!
1st Q: The brakes on this car have always been a bit ponderous, I guess
the servos are faulty as the pedal doesnt drop in the classic servo test.
I have a set of "replacements" from a scrapyard, which will hopefully
sort this out. I am also going to replace the front brake disks, as the
old ones are badly pitted (from when the car was idle for 5 years).
I see from the Haynes manual that they are held on by 4 hex screws,
accessible once the hub assembley is removed. I guess these will be
very diificult to undo---does anyone have experience of this job???
2nd Q: I may have found the Tii I'm looking for, rusty but complete (1973)
for 500 pounds in the UK. Now I know my 2002 quite well, but would like to
ask about any Tii quirks or Special parts which are expensive to replace
or repair (apart from the engine) which I should check out when I see
the car. You know the type of thing, special trim options, different
subframes, a brake component that has been unobtainable for ten years...
I expect a lot of welding/painting, but do not relish searching autojumbles
and specialist suppliers for the missing link.....
