Advice Please....



My '87 325 has been a joy and is a real cream puff.  
Only problem is it's a little doggie running.  I finally figured out that 
the auto tranny was adjusted to shift early, so I fooled around with the 
cable and got it to run out pretty nice.  Unfortunately, I red-lined it 
pretty good.  Now all of a sudden, the oil light comes on at idle and 
stays on until you get the rpm up around 900 or so.....What do you think 
I might have damaged.  This engine uses no oil and the compression is/was 
perfect last week when it was tuned.

Any help appreciated.
