[bmw] RE: Strange BMW Design Patent



Hi Matt,
yes, it's a running car, it called as the "Compact" series in Europe. They
actually look like that, and you can find some more pictures e.g. here:

and additional photos.
It's a 3-door version of the 3-series, rear-wheel drive as well, gets most of
the engines as the 3, except the M3's of course. BMW wanted a competitor in
the VW Golf's class that's quite large in Europe. You can think of it as an
evolution from E36 318ti. I saw a few in Hungary, they look, well, quirky, for
a Bimmer.
