[bmw] seized alternator bearings

Sir
   Bosch alternators can commonly be rebuilt by any good auto electric 
shop for under $100.  This includes dressing the slip rings, and 
replacing the bearings, brushes, & voltage regulator.
   With a new belt, and proper installation,this will give you another 
trouble-free 150+k miles.
  Compared to spending more than half that on a used one of 
questionable history.....well, it's your time and money.
