Extended Cranking Period When Starting After Changing Rotor and Cap E28

I changed my rotot and distributor cap on my 1983 528e and
now it seems to take 3 to 4 seconds of cranking before it
starts. Before it fire right up after hitting the key for 1
second. Anyone got any clues as to why this is happening?
Also before, when it would start it would rev up to 1500
rpm and drop down to 600-700 rpm, and now it starts and it
is immediately at 600 with no surge. I did also change my
fuel regulator, so maybe this is why. Could it be the cold
start injector?
