RE: <e28> 524td fuel pressure ?

Chris,

Not sure about the diesel application, but in all my E28's and numerous
others, the In-Tank Transfer pump puts out only about 6 to 14 psi, but needs
to be able to handle the volume. The Main Pump will work without it for a
time, but it should be replaced ASAP. On mine, instead of spending the $$$
on the BMW Parts Department price, I've had good luck retrofitting a
Federal-Mogul P60293 - available at most automotive parts stores (I buy it
for about $60.00 Cdn). Aaron Bohen has some really good photo's of this
retro-fit. You can contact him at [email protected], or check his web site
at http://www.civil.ubc.ca/home/bohnen/bmwpage.html

Hope this helps

(P.S. I've also heard that a old Chevy Vega Pump will fit with only minor
mods)

Subject: <e28> 524td fuel presure ?

Can someone tell me how much presure the in-tank, transfer pump puts out??
One of my manuals talks about hooking up a certain BMW tool to measure the
presure just before the injection pump but doesnt give a value .

Mine is dead and im trying to rig something up for the weekend until i can
find a good one?

if someone has a good used or new one, or knows of a clever fix, that would
be appreciated too.
