Top ten items on an E36 M3 with 58k miles:

1)  Rear Shock Mounts
2)  Rear Trailing Arm Bushings
3)  Radiator upper hose neck
4)  Change all lubricants - engine oil (and filter); diff oil; trans oil
5)  Change antifreeze
6)  Brake pads
7)  Check brake calipers - dust seals can be dry or cracked
8)  Missing jack pads ('hockey pucks') under the jacking points
9)  Damaged front airdam pieces, including center tray, left & right "pork 
chops", inner fender liners
10) Up to date on all recalls, including crank position sensor and brake 
light switch
