E-39 EML problem

Hello all,

I just lost almost all power and can only limp around, the EML light is on 
so is the "check engine".  I am 4 hours from the nearest dealer and the 
local shop has not been that good on diagnosing the electronics.  Any 
ideas???

Also....is E-39 correct for the 89 750il?
