Andrew,

My '71 1750 GTV has had 100w high beams, 100w driving lights, and 100w fog 
lamps since the early seventies.  I have replaced the alternator exactly one 
time since new and that was 5 years ago.  

Since there isn't much other electrical load on the car it should do fine.  
(I don't have air, radio, electric radiator fan.)
