RE: [alfa] Why they drive on the left side
I thought it was because of the stagecoaches in the US. Due to the
stagecoaches being often attacked, they rode with a armed passenger. Since
most of these 'guards' were right handed they sat to the right of the
driver, as it presented a better shot (as opposed to twisting and firing
over your left shoulder). Therefore when you passed you stayed to the right,
so that both coaches had a clear shot. I heard this is also the reason the
passenger seat is called "Shotgun" in the US.
Alfa content: How much is interchangable betewwn a RHD and LHD setup? I've
never really thought about all the differences required. I.e. are we talking
different racks, or are they typically desigen to be 'flipped' for either
side.
