Re: [alfa] Transmission mount removal/replacement

I posted a deal a while back about making a pusher with a socket, large tubing
and all thread. Then someone else said they use PVC pipe for a reciever.
Lastly, someone else said they use a gear puller and socket to push the old
one out and the new one in. I haven't tried that yet, but it sounds like the
easiest way to go.
The last one I changed gave me a fit. Just would not go in without cocking to
one side. Then the young fella I was working with suggested trying to put it
in from the other side. Went in like it had eyes!!
Others have talked about heating the housing and freezing the mount then
beating it in or out with a hammer. I am kinda leary of this method. You
break the housing and you are up the proverbial creek ;-)

Subject: [alfa] Transmission mount removal/replacement

Hi All, I need to replace the transimssion mount on my 105 transmission.
I remember a tread a while back that had a great description of how to
fabricate a tool to get the old one out and the new one in. I didn't save
the tread at the time- think I don't have this problem. But, now I do. If
anyone has some instructions on this, could you be so kind and to post or
forward to me? Regards, Robert WatsonNovato CA67 GTV69 Spider
