[alfa] Toluene booster
Stefano asks: "Interesting to hear this about the 104 Octane booster. The article I
referenced
with regard to boosting the octane says that these additive cans only raise
the
octane 0.2 to 0.3 of an octane point. The mixture of Toluene that is
suggested
raises the number about 2.4 points.
Haven't seen anyone chime in on the mixture. Has nobody every used Toluene
or Xylene as a booster?"
Not in an Alfa, but a friend who really is a nuclear engineer used it in his Ferrari 308 a year and a half ago. Catastrophic failure, right down to hammered main bearings. He's still putting it back together.
