I've actually built an IASCA competiton system (sound quality
competition) in my 1991 Spider, it's tricky with the lack of space
available. Feel free to contact me with questions, my system consists of:

Nakamichi MB-75 6 disc changer in the factory location

Two Illusion audio 8 inch subs with .75 square feet enclosure each. I'm
particularly proud of this solution, I built stainless steel pans and bolted
them under the driver and passenger seat, drilled swiss cheese holes in the
floorboard and have the subs recessed under the seats. Ground clearance
seems to be unaffected

EQ - Xtant 5 band parametric EQ

AMP - Xtant 603X 4 channel amp, (600 watts RMS into 4 ohm) running as 3
channel (bridged for subwoofer)

Front stage - Diamond Audio 5.25 inch component set. I built custom kick
panels to house the component set. the knee bolsters are a real pain,
anyone know of a good way to eliminate them and have it look decent?

Sound insulation - dynamat applied to floor, parcel shelf, door skins.

The irony is that I now need to upgrade my electrical system, since just
powering up the amp draws enough current to make the voltage drop
significantly.

The system does add a lot of weight, my car doesn't win any records for
performance, it's for stylish cruising, and it sounds GREAT! It's basically
invisible unless you spot the kick panels. The amp and EQ mount neatly to
the back wall of the trunk, preserving most of the space.
