[alfa] hot starter?
New problem with my Alfetta earlier today. The car has been starting
decently lately, but today at lunch I turned the key and got nothing.
ALT light was working, fuel pump was whirring, and when I opened the
bonnet, I could hear a click, but no starter. Had started fine 10 min
before...I poked at a few things, checked some connections, tapped on
the starter and the solenoid. No dice.
Go in, eat lunch, come out, cranks and starts. Sitting for roughly
an hour seemed to be enough.
Only thing I can think of is the starter didn't want to work hot. Never
had a problem with this before, and it wasn't particularly hot today.
The battery has been showing signs of weakness lately, and I'll probably
be replacing it soon, but I'm wondering if the starter hasn't acquired
some degenerative disease that will also require it's replacement.
Thoughts?
