[alfa] Re: Peter's Opinion of the 2600

I am a bit perplexed when Peter Krause says that the 2600 is "everything the 2000 Spider is not...fleet, attractive, solid, and substantial". I will agree that the iron block 2000 is not particularly fast, but since the 102 series 2000 and the 106 series 2600 are based on basically the same body, I don't understand the rest. I personally prefer the detailing of the 2000 over the 2600, especially in the nose. I also prefer the simple painted dash of the 2000 to that odd vinyl covered thing with the central glovebox in the 2600 (just my opinion, I love both cars).

Although the cars look superficially similar, few body parts are interchangable. The hood, trunklid, doors, top frame, nose, and most of the trim are different. FYI, the latest issue of Sportscar Market showed a 2000 Spider selling at a Christies auction in the Netherlands for $32,000 US.
