I don't think that's the case. I think it's the color of the plastic,
which "fades" or "yellows" over time. Then you guy get a replacement...
and it has NO white part, the whole thing is red.

Forgive the stupid suggestion; but isn't the white part on the inside of
the
lens removeable? Isn't it just tape or paint; some of which has
partially
flaked off on some cars? For those of you who have noted mismatched
lenses,
can't the white stuff be removed so it'll match the non striped
lense--and
look like the later newer style. Or some of you should trade so everyone
can
have nice matching lenses so all our Alfas will look nice....ev

       I have three 91 Alfa Spiders.  All have a white lower section on
the
right taillight and less white on the left.  All were built in May and
June
of
1990.
       A friend has a 91 built in October 1990 and it has matching white
tail
lights.
