I pickle SPICA FI pumps by:

1. Thoroughly cleaning the outside
2. Remove the old FI pump oil filter and clean the inside cavity.
2. In a dry heated area, removing the Altitude Compensator, turning the pump 
upside down and letting the logic section residual oil drain completely. 
Inspect the tension spring at the same time to be sure it's good and not 
rusted to impending failure.
3. Drain all fuel out of the pump section.
4. Pour enough clean engine oil into the logic section and roll around to 
thoroughly coat the inside of the pump.
5. Pour some Marvel Mystery Oil into each fuel fitting tower on top of pump 
as well as into the fuel inlet and outlets. Roll around to thoroughly coat 
the interior.
6. Install tight fitting plugs/caps to the all six fuel fittings as well as 
the thermostatic actuator hole.
7. Put in a plastic bag and seal. Add a dessicant if you have a packet.
8. Store in dry heated storage, not a shed.

As far as the supply pump goes . . . . . If it's an old original SPICA or 
Bosch supply pump with the fuel fittings in an "L" configuration, drain it 
and coat inside with MMO, then save it as an emergency spare. It's probably 
junk. When you put the car back together use a new supply pump (from a 
L-Jetronic model) and a solder in and drilled out (narrowed down 1/16") fuel 
restriction in the FI pump outlet fitting.
