Re:[alfa] Whos going to pony up for this...

CA emissions would almost certainly prevent George from driving the Integrale on the road, but I wouldn't be too worried about parts. Think about how economical it has become to order our Alfa parts from Highwood or EB in the UK or Hutienne in Germany, compared to the usual USA vendors. Those of you with TS engines in your 115 GTVs and Spiders don't have too much trouble getting parts over here, I imagine, and I've seen that 16V Lancia engine installed in Scorpions/MonteCarlos, and even an X1/9 in the USA, so finding parts for it can't be too much harder than for an Alfa TS, although the Integrale version is certainly tweaked-out and rarer, but that applies to any limited-production car, even if it was built in your own backyard. If I had ~$10k, needed a somewhat practical car, and lived on the east coast, I'd probably bid on it. (No, even if I had $10k, I'd still be a cheapskate--I'd wait until the auction ends with no bids and offer him $7500.)

My concerns have more to do with How did it get here? and Why do they want to sell it? The implied lack of a title is also a little odd.

It's a hot car and a desirable one, no doubt about it, BUT Where would you ever get it fixed when it broke? What about Parts?
Orphans are rarely good deals when all of the parts, no matter how trivial, have to be ordered from overseas. I'd also be willing to bet that it won't pass CA emissions either. But if I were really interested in this car, I'd first contact Chris Obert in Santa Cruz, CA (largest importer of Fiat and Lancia parts in the U.S.) and find out what's available for it and how easy or difficult it will be to get things.

Send a $1 to Mr Axle Rose, and he can get the title history on VIN:
