[alfa] Re: DIY Rear Brakes on Milano? How hard?
$900 for a brake job?
sounds like they intend to rebuild. IMO, don't bother
mucking around under the car with brake calipers in
unknown (possibly quite corroded) condition. you'll
save yourself much grief by just pulling the calipers
and rebuilding them yourself on a benchtop. doubly so
if you know you have to replace rotors, too. even if
you don't want to rebuild yourself, rebuilt units are
available for $125 a piece. you'll come out far short
of $900!
rebuilding is pretty straightforward, though. you'll
need a dremel (or equivalent) with a couple sizes of
grinding tips to clean the scale out so that the pads
drop in and slide freely.
