[alfa] Re: Spica air box paint source

Hi Biba:

I'm the guilty party that had the Spica airbox paint custom-mixed. I think I ended up buying something like 20 cans for myself and fellow Digesters, and Tower Paint is supposed to have the formula on file:

http://www.towerpaint.com/index2.html

The two airboxes I painted came out really great, IMHO. I had them media-blasted first, then shot a thin coat of primer, and finally 3 coats of the color. The spray cans from Tower are really nice, too. The paint was color-matched to an unmolested end cover from a '74 airbox, so it's that correct gray with the blue/green tint, and it has the proper semi-gloss sheen. One can is easily enough for two airboxes, and might do three if you're careful. I haven't tried re-ordering from Tower, but here's exactly what's on the label:

ALFA ROMEO GRAY
FOR AIR CLEANER
DEAN CAINS
03/02

Hopefully, that's all the info you'll need.

Gregory, is this Alfa person to Alfa person blackmail, and I need to drop off
a (hopefully not too large of a sum) 'bag' somewhere or are you just
gloating?

Biba
