[alfa] RE:Replacing oxygen sensor 92 spider

Marc

I recently replaced the O2 sensor on my 91 Spider. It took less than an hour. The Bosch original O2 sensor is model number 15735 however many 3-wire O2 sensors will do the job just as well. Bosch recommends 13101 as an OE alternative, but I understand others that work include 13953. You can get these at Autozone, Pepboys etc. Simple splicing of the old connectors to the new sensor with crimp connectors and shrink tubing does the job very well. I understand the wires are designed not be soldered together.
Regards

Simon

Subject: [alfa] Replacing oxygen sensor 92 spider
I'm getting ready for my CA smog test; the car barely passed 2 yrs ago.
The oxygen sensor has never been replaced and I have > 100K miles now.
How easy is the job to replace the oxygen sensor in a late model spider?
Easy access or difficult? Any potential glitches to be aware of?
Advice on where to purchase is welcome. Centerline has them for $161,
Alfa Parts for $187, and oxygensensorswholesale.com for $115. Seems strange
that there is a large price difference between the wholesale place although
they claim it is an OEM Bosch part.
Thanks
Marc
