Re: [alfa] Alfetta GT vs GTV6 weight
James Montebello wrote, "I believe the Alfetta was produced using a lighter
gauge steel than the GTV6.", which reminded me that my 76 Alfetta Sedan had
much heavier steel than my 87 Mazda. In 91 or 90 Denver had a severe
hailstorm causing 100's of millions of dollars in damage to cars and roofs.
My Mazda came out looking like a golf ball while my Alfetta was basicall
untouched. A few spots on the "chrome" but that's it. I know its comparing
apples to oranges but if any changes were made I would think that the later
cars would have progressed to thinner steel. Of course they probably built
up the bracing on the GTV6 which would account for a heavier car.
