[alfa] Re: 1979 Spider heater lever lamp

Hi Bill:

All the US consoles I've seen have the hole for the light, but none of the Euro consoles I've seen have it. FWIW, without the hole, who needs the light? Does your console have the third switch below the shifter, or all those silly indicator lights for the seatbelts, brakes, etc.? If not, it's a euro part. My '74 has a hole, but no light, so if you want to sell the light, I'll take it for what Centerline charged you + shipping. Or, just get the drills out and make the hole. I agree that the black faceplate is what looks best on a Spider. Before chrome, there were also some that were brushed aluminum, that weren't too bad, though.

Subject: [alfa] 1979 Spider heater lever lamp

I have a 79 Spider that I purchased used with an unknown history. The
heater control face plate as well as the knobs and heater lever light were all
missing.

I recently purchased a face plate and light from Centerline.

My question is, did all spiders in the 1979-1980 have the light? My console
does not have the hole to install the light.

The faceplate I purchased is chrome plated (Centerline said the black is NLA)
I would prefer the black face any thoughts.

I will be placing an order with Highwood Motor Company, I just want to make
sure there if there is more than one type of faceplate I order the correct one
for use with the light.
