Questions on the new Spider



Greetings Alfisti,

I have a few questions regarding the new Spider.

I have a K&N air filter from my Verde not being used right now.  They look the 
same.  Are the Milano L-Jet and Spider L-Jet filters the same?

I have a Plex that's not in use.   I understand the 82-up Spiders have the 
ignition module.   What's involved in using the Plex?  Can I dump the stock 
module totally for the Plex module or does it integrate.  And does it have 
something to do with controlling the VVT?

I'm still working on getting it running.   I'm going to do a compression test 
tonight.   It cranks what appears to be too fast.   The facts so far, the guy 
was driving it and it suddenly stopped running.  No noises.   The car sat for a 
while prior to this.   The plugs were wet with fuel after cranking for a 
while.   The coil produces good spark when arc'd the valve cover.  The plug 
wire produces weak spark when arc'd to the valve cover.   The electrodes on the 
Lodge HL plugs were extremely worn, but not burned.  All the plugs were the 
same colour when they came out.   Previous owner said it uses a lot of oil, but 
from the looks of the engine compartment it's leaking not burning.  Oil looks 
dirty but usual, no signs of water.   I'm going to check for gas in there 
tonight also (fearing a holed piston).   Haven't gotten around to valve 
clearances yet but it's on the list.  Still for the price ($1500) a rust and 
dent free Spider Veloce isn't bad.  Might be more work than expected.  We'll 
see.  Compression test will tell all I'm sure.
