Before I fooled around with the casting plugs, I'd double check that the
upper radiator hose isn't leaking where it connects to the manifold.
Unless someone has fooled with the plugs recently, it's unlikely that
they are where the actual leak is.  I have seen several Spiders with the
same problem you describe and all of them were traced to the upper
radiator hose/manifold junction.  The coolant sprays out and what
doesn't evaporate finds its way to the lowest point, which is the plug
behind cylinder 1.
