I had the same problem on my 93 Spider.
Not wanting to r&r the transmission, I elected to start from the tail and
work towards the transmission.
Interestingly enough, after r&r both rear tail light assemblies, cleaning
all connections, and replacing the bulbs, the back-up lights worked. It
seems that most of the lighting issues on the car were related to funky
connections or weak bulb assemblies.

Anyone wanna buy a new reverse light switch for a 93 cheap?
