Spider License Plate Frame

Hi All,

I recently purchased a license plate frame from
Litespeed Auto on EBay. The frame supposedly would fit
my series 4. When I went to mount it, the mounting
holes for the frame seem about 1/4 to 3/8" too high
and won't allow the frame to sit above the bumper.

Anyone here purchased a frame from these guys and have
fit problems? I dropped the seller a note, and he
wanted more specifics as he has never had a buyer
mention the frame wouldn't fit. Am I the odd man out?

I have only had my spider for a couple of months and
don't know if the previous owner had changed
something. I see the plate mounts to a brushed metal
piece that is pop riveted to some mounts on the body.
I could always drill out the pop rivets and move the
metal mounting back piece up a bit. But wouldn't have
expected the need to do that.
